PARIS, Oct 30 (Reuters) – France is recalling more condoms after its consumer watchdog said on Friday it had found that they had manufacturing defects that raised the risk of them bursting and ripping.
The agency said it was suspending sales and imports of all condom brands that were made using the faulty process for a year.
• In August, French anti-fraud and health agencies recalled about 260,000 condoms for the same reason
• It was not immediately clear how many condoms were affected by Friday’s recall
• “The investigation concluded that the production process used by the range of ultrathin condoms risks fluctuating the thickness and the quality of the latex,” the anti-fraud agency said, adding that users were at increased risk of sexually transmitted infections and pregnancy
• The French government’s suspension of sales and imports of the condom brands can be renewed if necessary
